A major project undertaken by us was the construction of an orphanage on some 8 acres of land.

The project hopes to provide lodgings for some 80 students, mostly orphans. The idea is to create a place of educational excellence for the poorest in society. So far we have managed to excavate 2 small lakes for fish farming and recreation, the larger one will serve as a nature reserve.

They have been stocked with various species of fish. The area has a large field for sports, over 200 coconut trees have been planted, so within 5 years they will become productive. A large number of mango, papaya, orange, lime, jackfruit, date, lychee and guava trees have been planted to name a few.

The office and guest rooms with attached bathrooms have been completed. The end of 2007 should finish the main orphanage building. It contains, a dormitory, canteen, science room, library and several teaching rooms.

Various species of wildlife already thrive in the area, including Indian bullfrogs, keel back snakes, wildcats, jackals, parrots, doves, and various species of turtles.
